Project Rationale//Concept Statement//Design Production for Print.


RATIONALE- The underlying principles or beliefs that shape and defines an individuals creative practice and how it relates to the world.
My concept rationale for my 'Design Production for Print' project, which evolved from my summer brief 'What Is Good?'.

GOOD IS... THE FILMS OF WES ANDERSON

WHY?

1// Martin Scorsese is a big fan of his movies, even choosing him as the next Martin Scorsese in an Esquire magazine article.

2// The titlecards are always in the font: Futura Bold, most commonly in yellow color.

3// Makes obsessive and comedic use of "rostrum camera" insert shots, foregrounding the minutiae of books and other documents.


4// Movies often focus around a broken or unorthodox family circle

5// His soundtracks feature folk and early rock music, in particular classic British rock.

A hypothetical retrospective film festival of Wes Anderson's work- Informing the public about his films and their auteur qualities, facts, statistical data, etc, presented in a visually communicative and engaging way through interactive media and infographic design.
