ENTERPRISE TASK 2.

WHERE ARE MY POTENTIAL CLIENTS/EMPLOYERS LOCATED?

- I particularly want to work within the printed media sector, and in particular, working with education (specifically children). Potential clients/employers can be found:

- City/Town Councils
- Parents
- Schools
- Museums/Galleries
- Universities
- Colleges
- Specialist training (Teacher training, learning programmes, etc)
- Libraries

Largely, these locations will be found in major cities and large towns in CBD's (Central Business Districts) where visiting numbers are high, or a wide audience can be focused upon. Of course, in the case of schools and individual parenting families, the clients are located globally- and due to technological advances from the past twenty years in Internet technology, can be easily accessed and connected with.

WHAT MEDIA DO MY POTENTIAL CLIENTS/EMPLOYERS USE?

In the education sector, various forms of media are used- which would ensure that my practice would remain diverse and practically engaging for both myself and the client.
Printed media, traditionally, is the most common form of media found within the education sector- through wall chart displays, info graphic murals, and, of course, project books and manuals.
However, screen-based design is becoming all the more commonplace in the modern day classroom or museum, with increased pressure on financial restraints due to the global "double-dip" recession of recent years, along with the technological advances of screen-based interactivity, which continue to engage and expand their capabilities through audiences young and old.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO COMMUNICATE AND HOW DOES IT MATCH WHAT YOUR CLIENTS/EMPLOYER NEED?

I aspire to created published educational materials with both educational and visual engagement. Aware that not all children/adults can afford the latest technological device, I want to bridge the gap between traditional and modern learning- creating interactive media for both printed and screen-based learning.
Visually, I want to create a new, exciting and innovative way of learning- to engage all types of learners across a range of ages- to create beautifully designed, yet informative manuals, textbooks and project books to help engage learners, and to modernise otherwise dry and seemingly uninteresting subjects (maths, science, economics... to name a few...).
I feel there is great potential in the market for this type of learning- particularly for children and young adults. With more pressure than ever for "the future generation" to achieve success in education due to decreasing numbers of jobs, and the increase of University fees for graduates, it is important to enrich and encourage learning to ensure the greatest success in life- be it financial, personal, or professional.

TASK 2 SUMMARY//CLIENTS AND EMPLOYERS//THE FUTURE OF MY DESIGN PRACTICE

Upon graduating, I aspire to work in the field of Graphic Design- specialising in creating educational material, focusing on study and visual engagement in equal measure. With a particular focus of designing for children and young adults, I hope to create a cross-neuro-linguistic learning experience, engaging kinaesthetic, visual and auditory (utilising Fleming’s VAK/VARK model) learners with memorable and innovative designs.
